Abstract


The increasing complexity of different academic programs, along with the diversity of the students’ backgrounds requires an automated and innovative approach to help enhance the academic advising process.

To ensure effective planning, the traditional advising methods are no longer sufficient. These methods are limited and cannot provide personalized guidance for each student.

This will certainly lead to inadequate course selections and possible extended degree completion times. Our research proposed an Artificial Intelligent (AI) driven system that helps optimize the student academic pathways through customized course recommendations and dynamic degree planning. The outcome of the system is a tailored plan specific to individual student profiles, that takes into consideration the academic history, interests, and career goals. AI can analyze extensive academic data and identify patterns and then predict the best pathways that align with students' background, their objectives, and the job market.

The development process, from integrating the AI model to the implementation of a user interface, shows how effectiveness is AI, and demonstrates the system's impact on informed decision-making, degree completion efficiency, and planning satisfaction. This demonstrates the potential of AI in revolutionizing academic advising and degree planning, enhancing educational outcomes and experiences by providing data-driven, personalized guidance.
